Andrew Hodder who sold over 600 tickets on behalf of the Christmas Lights Committee
The 2019 fundraising raffle for Lyme Regis Christmas lights fund was a huge success raising over £2,000. Tickets were sold in the Slipway store by the Cobb and online. The draw took place just before the Christmas tree at Bell Cliff was illuminated during the 30th November switch on.
On behalf of Lyme Regis Christmas Lights Committee, Rob James commented: "We are extremely grateful to those who purchased tickets for this year's fundraising raffle, helping us reach a fabulous total of just over £2,000. I'd like to thank the businesses who donated prizes and local resident Andrew Hodder, who single-handedly sold over 600 tickets to members of the local community on behalf of the Committee."
In recognition of Andrew’s tremendous effort, he was invited to participate in the switch on parade by accompanying the mayor and turning on the lights on the Christmas tree at Bell Cliff.
There were 5 great prizes on offer in the raffle. First prize was a week in a holiday cottage in Rosedale Abbey, Yorkshire, kindly donated by Sharon and Graeme Baxter of the Slipway shop at the Cobb. There were also cash prizes of £200 and £100 donated by local financial advice firm Bright Future Finance and Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and three course meals at the Alexandra Hotel and Harbour Inn.
