Lyme Regis Community Carollers

The wet weather didn't dampen spirits during the first Lyme Regis Community Carols event last night as 65 carollers set off from Cloverdale Court on a route around the east side of town, stopping at various points along the way.

Town Crier Alan Vian rang his bell to alert residents of their arrival before the carollers serenaded those listening to traditional carols including Away in a Manger, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Ding Dong! Merrily on High, Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, Jingle Bells, We Wish you A Merry Christmas
O Come All Ye Faithful, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Once in Royal David’s City, Good King Wenceslas and Silent Night.

Some residents came out onto the street to listen while others watched from their windows.

The route ended at the Woodmead Halls where the carollers were treated to hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies.

A great evening was had by all with £111.70 collected for Lyme Regis Christmas Lights.

Lyme Regis Community Carols was organised by Sarah Causley who plans to make this an annual event.

Thanks to everyone who came along and we look forward to doing it all again next year!
